Help us raise money

It's that time of year again! We're raising money for the Roger Neilson House in support of their wonderful work with the Perinatal Bereavement Program. Seven years ago, our newborn son, Michael passed away due to complications related to prematurity. It was a devasting time for us. I found comfort in the newly formed Bereavement program which included free grief counselling services as well as a community of support with people of similar circumstances. I had no idea, how many women and couples go through perinatal loss, because no one talked about it. Older generations would advise to forget about it, friends wouldn't know what to say, there I could feel free to just be seen, and start to heal. Since the Butterfly run in Ottawa started in 2017. The event has raised ~$500000. They have been able to expand services to more women, families and even grandparents. For those who have supported us in years past, unfortunately "our" apple tree did not bear fruit this year (? unusually warm spring) so we will not be able to do our homemade apple pie give away. :-(  Last year we made 10 pies and still had some leftover apples.  Hopefully that will not deter your giving, it's a wonderful cause!
