My Story…
My initial diagnosis of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer occurred in March 2020. After treatments and minor surgeries, the cancer came back. I then made the difficult decision to have my bladder removed. This was an emotionally and physically challenging time, but I thought I had beaten cancer. I hadn't. I was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer (aka metastatic urothelial carcinoma) in June of 2022. That REALLY scared me.
The good news: I'm doing great now thanks to chemotherapy and my current immunotherapy maintenance treatments. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm able to fully enjoy life, including my passion of cycling.
I'm so happy to participate in this ride and help to pay my debt forward so that cancer research may help others.
