My Story…
Life has a way of coming full circle. As a child, I grew up knowing my fun Uncle Gary: my dad’s brother in Ontario who always called with jokes and stories. He also happened to have a spinal cord injury. Sadly, my Uncle Gary passed away when I was still quite young. As an adult, I wish I had the chance to get to know him better. But his love remains.
The timing in my life was right when I joined SCI BC last year. I wanted to work for an organization that aligned with my values and made a difference for people with disabilities. Since joining the team, I have learned so much! I’ve learned about the magical power of peer support, the amazing programs and resources SCI BC offers, and I’ve learned more about how my Uncle Gary's injury affected him.
I am participating in this year’s Charity Challenge because I believe in the value of the work SCI BC does and because I want to contribute to a better world for people with SCI and related disabilities. Please help me spread the word and, if you are able, please donate to SCI BC Team Okanagan. Thank you!
