Help William raise money

In April of 2021, after coming home from a drill weekend for the National Guard I noticed my son to be worn out and just looked exhausted. Although he denied feeling abnormal he was just eager to join his friends outside to play. I hadn't seen him for a few days, but he had just come back from his step-sister's birthday party and before that, he had spent a few days at his Mom's. 

That day I had talked to his mom about my concerns, and she had noticed some abnormal symptoms, increased thirst, and frequent urination. Both his mom and I work in healthcare and had an idea of what his symptoms may mean. I immediately drove to the local pharmacy, purchased an OTC glucometer, and checked his blood sugar in the car. To no surprise, it read "High". I turned to him and said "Sorry buddy, but we are going to have to take a trip to the hospital." 

My son is the toughest kid I know. There were no tears, no anxiousness, just a calm understanding that there was no other option. That day he was diagnosed with T1D, a disease with no cure, one that he will have to deal with for the rest of his life.
One thing I am thankful for is organizations like JDRF. Their research has led to remarkable improvements in diabetes care that have allowed my son to live a pretty normal life.  

This year I am running in support of JDRF and their continued fight for juvenile diabetes. Will you please help me reach my goal of raising money for this cause?
