Help Me Change the Conversation About Epilepsy
I will be participating in the Cleveland Half Marathon again this year on Sunday, May 19th, representing the non-profit organization Empowering Epilepsy. Epilepsy and seizure disorders are close to my heart. Almost 10 years ago, Nathan was diagnosed with epilepsy, and by the grace of God, he is doing well. We have several friends whose lives have also been greatly affected by seizures.
I will also be running to honor the life and legacy of our friend Mia Lake. She fought her battle against epilepsy with courage, faith, and grace. I run to represent all the families still affected by seizures. Thank you for your support!
Description
Please support me as I join Empowering Epilepsy's Team in the Cleveland Marathon! Their mission is to show people living with epilepsy and their loved ones what they can do.
1 in 10 people will have a seizure in their lifetime. 1 in 26 will be diagnosed with epilepsy. Receiving an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan can take years. Empowering Epilepsy's goal is to better educate people with epilepsy on their diagnosis and treatment plan, so they can talk to their doctor and more quickly improve their overall quality of life. They provide free or low cost programs, conferences, and support to help them discover what they can do.
Donations to support my run or walk means the world to me. Every dollar donated is helping to empower the lives of people living with epilepsy and seizures in Northeast Ohio!
