Help Me Change the Conversation About Epilepsy
In 2012, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and my life changed forever. Epilepsy is an unseen yet common condition that I have been learning about, advocating and educating those around me. Alongside me, my family and friends have also been a huge support on my journey with epilepsy and I am grateful for them! Since growing up, I have been active playing sports and I have ran many Cleveland Marathon races and other races aside. This will be my first Cleveland Marathon Challenge series, so why not start it out with supporting Empowering Epilepsy? This non profit organization provides amazing services for people who have epilepsy and their loved ones in the Northeast Ohio area! Not only being a Cleveland resident myself, I believe epilepsy is one that needs to be seen and heard more. Please share and donate to this cause!
Description
Please support me as I join Empowering Epilepsy's Team in the Cleveland Marathon! Their mission is to show people living with epilepsy and their loved ones what they can do.
1 in 10 people will have a seizure in their lifetime. 1 in 26 will be diagnosed with epilepsy. Receiving an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan can take years. Empowering Epilepsy's goal is to better educate people with epilepsy on their diagnosis and treatment plan, so they can talk to their doctor and more quickly improve their overall quality of life. They provide free or low cost programs, conferences, and support to help them discover what they can do.
Donations to support my run or walk means the world to me. Every dollar donated is helping to empower the lives of people living with epilepsy and seizures in Northeast Ohio!
