My Story…
My son, Joshua Metzger, passed away in December 2008 at the age of 8. He was diagnosed with DIPG, a brain stem cancer, in Oct. 2008. Before that, he was a very healthy and active boy. Josh enjoyed playing sports, watching movies, riding his bike, and many other things that a healthy 8 year old enjoys. I learned about Prayers from Maria in 2013, when I was training for my first marathon. I had never known much about DIPG, and found a loving group of families that had also lost children to this disease. PFM'S goal is to raise awareness of this deadly childhood disease. I will be running the Cleveland Half Marathon on May 19, as part of the Prayers from Maria Sunflower Striders team. I am hoping to raise money to help support research that will once and for all defeat childhood brain cancer. Would you please help me?
