My Story…
My story with chronic migraines began when I was 3 years old. I have abdominal migraines which means that on top of the constant horrible head pain, I vomit constantly until the attack is over, which is usually within 1-3 days. When I was younger, I was not able to take anything more than Tylenol. I was always afraid of telling my parents I was getting a migraine (prodrome) because I was afraid of being left out of plans to rest and recover which means that 90% of my migraines were full force. As I got older, I went to more doctors and specialists that took my pain seriously and I got more educated on how my migraines would happen and how best to treat them. My migraines are stress/blood pressure related most of the time. Luckily, in my teens, I was able to try Triptans/blood pressure medication which helped the majority of my attacks going forward. I am so thankful for the doctors that took my symptoms and disease seriously.
