My Story…
This year, SwimBowen lands on July 13th – what would have been my Mom's 73rd birthday. She didn't make it past 40. F*ing cancer.
Now that I've surpassed her time on earth, it's impossible to not reflect on how insanely lucky I am that I'm still here—I take none of this precious life for granted.
Watching family, friends and community experience the physical, emotional and financial hardship cancer brings is deflating. So I swim in honour of all of those living through this, as a way to say we see you, we love you, we support you.
