"I was just 17 when my mom was diagnosed with gastric cancer. She was my hero and my inspiration. I stood by her side every day, caring for her, spending nights at the hospital, and many more nights praying desperately for her recovery—a recovery that, sadly, never came. She passed away two years later, when I was 19. The entire experience was incredibly painful, leaving emotional scars that remain with me to this day.

I can't even imagine the painful journey Kim and her family endured. Facing childhood cancer as a parent must be one of the most difficult challenges. This is one of the reasons I fundraise for Tali's Fund—to help heal my own scars and to support children and families affected by cancer. But I can't do it alone.
