Help Minusha raise money

I'm Minusha and I'm fundraising at the TCS Waterfront Marathon 5K event for the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre.

I've been a crisis line counsellor for about 2 and a half years, and it's been some of the most rewarding work I've ever done. The work is challenging, of course, but I also feel extremely honoured every time I am trusted with a survivor's story. It's some of the most intimate community engagement I could ever experience, and I am grateful to be a part of this collective.

I started crisis line counselling in 2022, during the pandemic. I felt very lonely, somewhat aimless, and disconnected during that time. I needed to put my energy towards some form of community work and engagement. I feel so lucky to have joined the collective, to meet so many like-minded and passionate people who care so deeply about eradicating sexual violence from our society, and who are so committed to the healing process and championing survivors. I am deeply moved with every phone call I take, every survivor displays immense bravery and vulnerability, and it's incredibly inspiring.
