Did you know that over 90% of children in the Global South (‘developing countries’) who need a wheelchair don’t have access to one? This means that children are stuck at home, can’t go to school or play with friends, and are unable to experience the freedom and independence of mobility. It also forces a family member to stay home as a caregiver, further deepening the cycle of poverty. For children and families already living in poverty, this creates immense barriers and adds to the significant obstacles and difficulties they already face. The simple act of receiving a properly fitted wheelchair is therefore absolutely life-changing for both the child and their family.

Help us change hundreds of lives by donating in solidarity and supporting our efforts to ship a container full of pediatric wheelchairs to Peru. In Peru, each child will be custom-fitted with an appropriate wheelchair, and their family will receive information and support for wheelchair maintenance and other disability-related needs.
