My Story…
Y Camping and Adventure has been a foundational part of my life since I was two years old as a camper at family camp. I've cherished the opportunities that I've had to spend my summers outside in the Northwoods as a camper, leadership development program participant, and seasonal staff member. My love for Y Adventure has lead me to take on a full-time role on the Camping and Adventure team as the Director of Community Development and Inclusion.
Growing up, there weren't a lot of Latinx folks that looked like me in our camping spaces. It's been amazing to see the growth in representation in our camp spaces for folks of color, however, there is always work to be done as we continue to work towards making our spaces and programs as equitable and centered in belonging as possible. I'm proud of the work our team has accomplished so far in regards to equity and inclusion practices, philosophies, and systems change, and I see the need for increased funding to continue to support the work still to be done. Please read more below about our team, our mission, and a bit about what irons are in the fire! Thank you for taking the time to make it to this page, and if you donated, my sincerest thank you for your support! It takes a village to create communities of belonging, and I'm grateful you are a part of ours.
