My Story…
My name is Rebekah Dupont, and I'm raising money to run in the Twin Cities 10-mile on October 6th, 2024, for the YMCA Adventure Team, a cohort of 17+ camps and adventure programs that offer outdoor experiences for all ages, 365 days per year. Y Adventure is fundraising specifically to increase our equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts, including scholarships, continued learning experiences for our staff, and strategies to recruit and support diverse youth to become our next generation of leaders. Y Adventure is committed to creating inclusive, accessible spaces that acknowledge shared history and nurture diverse communities.
Camp Northern Lights (CNL) on Bear Island Lake is the YMCA’s newest family camp in Northern Minnesota. Thanks to incredible leadership and strong teamwork, CNL is taking S.T.E.P.S. toward equity at family camps. S.T.E.P.S stands for Supporting the Transformation of Equity and Power in outdoor Spaces. The goal of Taking S.T.E.P.S. initiative is to create opportunities for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ families to experience representation and community in a family camp setting.
I am honored to have recently joined the community board of CNL. While I will probably be one of the slowest runners, I plan to run the 2024 Twin Cities 10-mile with a heart of intention for working toward a future about which we can all be proud.
Any amount, big or small, will be appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to supporting our team’s equity, inclusion and belonging efforts.
Donate to help Rebekah raise money for 2024 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend’s fundraising campaign.
