Help Molly raise money

For participating in 2024 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend

My Story…

Hi! I'm fundraising for Save the Boundary Waters, an organization leading the effort to permanently protect the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). The BWCA encompasses and showcases things I and many Minnesotans find important: natural beauty, recreation, positive economic impact, and ecosystem biodiversity.

- The BWCA is over 1 million acres and shares 150 miles with the Canadian border. There are over 1,100 lakes and streams, 1,200 miles of canoe routes, and 2,200+ campsites.

- The Boundary Waters is home to a plethora of ecosystems and bounds of biodiversity. Three federally threatened species (the Canada lynx, the northern long-eared bat, and the gray wolf) can be found in the Boundary Waters. Other species of special concern in the state of Minnesota can be found here, such as moose and lake sturgeon

- There is recreational abundance within the Wilderness Area. Not only are there opportunities to canoe, hike, and camp, but the BWCA also allows sportsmen and women to sustainably hunt and fish. This offers a kinship with wildlife and wildlands and assists in the conservation, restoration, and regulation of ecosystems while encouraging resourcefulness and self-sufficiency. - The BWCA provides a positive economic impact to the small surrounding communities, counties, and the State of Minnesota. Outdoor recreation generates dollars through the selling of park permits, hunting and fishing licenses, and lodging. Small surrounding communities rely on tourism to the park and offer services to the public that are adjacent to the mission of the park (guiding, outfitting, lodging, and more!). There are many more reasons the Boundary Waters Canoe Area should be protected but these four are the most important to me. Please consider donating to not only help Save the Boundary Waters but to motivate and get me to the start of my second Twin Cities Marathon! Thank you!
