The Ken Gordon Society

The Ken Gordon Society (KGS), created by 17 year old Matthew and son of the late Ken Gordon, is about spreading human kindness and compassion through the work with men experiencing homelessness in HRM. The goal of KGS is to raise money to purchase land and build a safe, energy efficient facility for them to call home. The lives of these men can often be complicated with mental wellness needs and addictions, in which we hope to be able to address through education, counseling, employment & life skills - instilling their self- worth and when possible unite them with family members to make amends. This facility will not only take care of the men in these ways but as well give back to the community. Tenants will take part in working here: raised garden beds for food, chickens for eggs/meat and composting with more to follow with guidance from community volunteers & stakeholders.
