My Story…
My name is Maddie and I have a passion for running! I played a number of sports throughout my life and after playing collegiate lacrosse, I found my love for running again! I have run 2 half marathons, a number of 10K's and 5K's, and in 2024, I'm ready for my biggest challenge yet, a full marathon!
Who I'm running for: Aunt Marsha, Aunt Lauren, & My Pap
A little bit about my journey: In 2003, my Aunt Marsha was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. She battled the disease fearlessly through her years of treatments, hospital visits, surgeries, and eventually hospice. She lost her battle in January of 2013.
In 2021, my pap was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He went through a series of treatments, and eventually lost his battle to the disease in April of 2023.
In 2021, my wife's Aunt Lauren, was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma. She battled the disease, and we eventually lost her in January of 2022.
I look forward to challenging myself throughout the next year while I train. I am thankful to have three guardian angels watching over me and pushing me to do my best!! Here's to running for those that can't.
I appreciate you taking the time to read through my journey and supporting me on my biggest run yet, the Philadelphia Marathon!
