This will be my third time participating in the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend. I ran the full marathon the previous 2 years, but my fiancee made me promise no long runs during our honeymoon, so I'm only running the half this year to keep that promise without my training being impacted. Last year, I fundraised in support of my soon-to-be father-in-law Steven, who was undergoing treatment for stomach cancer. After rounds of chemo and a gastrectomy Steven was declared cancer free, his recent 6 month post-treatment scans remained all-clear. This year I am continuing to fundraise in honor of Steven as he adjusts to life without a stomach.
