Women Veterans of San Antonio

Raise money for Women Veterans of San Antonio

The mission of the Women Veterans of San Antonio is to serve, honor, and empower women Veterans from all eras and branches of service. We accomplish this by providing opportunities to network, socialize, volunteer, and give back to the Veteran community, all while bringing public awareness to the specific issues of women Veterans. Women Veterans of San Antonio (also known as WVSA) vision supports all women veterans including those experiencing a challenging reintegration into civilian life, by providing them with personal, meaningful interaction, and by connecting them to their communities through networking, volunteerism, and social activities.

Women Veterans are often forgotten and excluded from what is typically thought of as a Veteran. We have served our country in many capacities and we deserve the same recognition as our male counterparts. WVSA is a Veteran nonprofit organization. We were incorporated in June 2016, and granted our nonprofit/tax exempt status the same year. Over 50% of our expenses go to the Annual Veterans Day Stand Down (serves the needs of the homeless veterans living in the streets of San Antonio, Texas) or to other supportive Veteran organizations, such as Wreaths Across America. The WVSA Council and Committee Members work solely as volunteers and do not receive any monetary compensation. Lastly, we also aim to educate the public, and our peers, with the realization that “Women Are Veterans Too!"
