My Story…
In 2021, my father was in end stage renal failure. I was blessed to be a match and be able to donate a kidney to him. On March 30th, 2021, the transplant took place at the Cleveland Clinic. Six months after the surgery, I ran the Akron Full Marathon and achieved my best time! I proved to myself that having one kidney would not hold me back from living my best life and achieving my goals! Being a living donor is one of the best things I could have ever done in my life and it has given my Dad a second chance at life. It has shown us both what the impact of donation can have on a person and their family. This year I will run my 7th full marathon - 3rd since donating my kidney - and Akron is one of my favorite marathons! I want to spread awareness for organ donation by raising money for Donate Life!
