My Story…
Hello- I’m back again racing to support The Home! Last year I ran with my son, Benjamin Thompson Hall, because for us, athletic events and giving back are a family tradition. I can remember raising funds and awareness for The Home as a high schooler. Now, I serve as the organization’s Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and I’m taking my support a step further by running the Falmouth Road Race to benefit youth served by The Home - and to better my last year’s finishing time!
At age eight, I participated in The Walk for Hunger alongside my father, Bill Thompson. I ran the Boston Marathon in 2010 for the Boston Debate League and biked 80 miles in the Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2018. And I’ve passed a family culture of sports and philanthropy along to my son. When Ben was 12, he ran the last six miles of the Boston Marathon by my side, helping me cross the finish line.
I’m excited to continue this legacy by tackling the seven-mile seaside course once again, proudly representing The Home. Being immersed in The Home and having the opportunity to see our programs close up, I have such an appreciation for The Home and the real work that people do. Whatever I can do, in addition to my job as Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, I’ll do. And keeping up with family tradition at the same time. That’s what life is all about!
Thank you for supporting our efforts and the kids and families of The Home!
Description
For over 200 years, The Home for Little Wanderers has helped build stable lives and hopeful tomorrows for children who are abused, neglected or in at-risk circumstances.
Our 30+ community-based and residential programs serve thousands of children and their families across the Northeast. Many of these youth are forgotten or overlooked by society and have experienced trauma, violence or shattered family lives. At The Home, we ensure their emotional, social, educational and physical well-being through a wide range of critical services.
The Home’s mission is to help children and their families build permanent, positive change through innovative programs including adoption and foster care, behavioral health and clinical services, residential care, special education schools and young adult programs.
The Home helps children at every age and stage of life, from birth to age 26, bringing stability support, and above all, hope, into their lives. Help us continue to give the children at The Home what they need! Please consider making a gift in support of The Home for Little Wanderers’ 2024 Falmouth Road Race Team. Help us as we go the extra mile to support Better, Brighter, Futures for Kids!
