My Story…
Hi everyone! I am running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for Girls on the Run. I initially became involved with GOTR because it is the primary philanthropic organization of my sorority. Each year Gamma Phi required us to go and volunteer at one 5k per year. After my first two I was hooked and inspired to train for a 5k myself. If those girls could do so could I. I then ran more 5ks, 10ks and a half marathon all because of volunteering at an GOTR 5K. After starting taking running more seriously I became a coach for GOTR. Being a coach has been such a fulfilling experience. It has allowed me to see how this program
This past winter I had a foot injury that introduced me to the importance of running for mental, physical and emotional health. Coaching for Daniel Webster’s GOTR program helped me have a bit of normalcy in a time that felt so foreign.
Girls on the Run is the program we all needed growing up. The curriculum is spot on and teaches girls to find their starpower⭐️. This program is something I believe all girls should have the opportunity to be a part of. A donation would give a girl that chance! Thank you for reading and I would appreciate if you would consider donating.
Description
Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Through GOTR's program, trained coaches implement the research-based curriculum that builds lifelong healthy habits. Girls learn the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of physical activity, as well as tools for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Each season concludes with a 5K event where the girls run at their own pace, giving them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
