Why I Run
I am honored and excited to be running the 2024 Falmouth Road Race with Team Every Mother Counts — my first Falmouth Road Race in 6 years and my first ever Falmouth running for charity!
As you all know, I became a mom 8 months ago. It has been the best — exciting, exhausting, emotional, and fun all at once. I am so fortunate to have access to maternal care (both physical and mental), but not every mom is so lucky. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “it takes a village” to raise a child, and that couldn’t be more true. Moms also deserve a village of their own during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and EMC works to make that possible.
Every Mother Counts was born from the recognition that not all birthing people enjoy the same access and privilege when it comes to maternity care. In some parts of the world, women must travel many miles, often by foot, to reach a provider or clinic while pregnant or in labor.

Please support my fundraising efforts for the ASICS Falmouth Road Race. Running is an important part of the Every Mother Counts outreach because distance is often the biggest barrier to pregnant women and their families getting the maternal health care they need.
