The Herren Project is a nationwide nonprofit that offers free resources and aid for addressing substance use disorder, including treatment, recovery, and prevention services. During my junior high school health class, when I first learned about The Herren Project, I had no idea of the significant impact it would eventually have on me as time passed.
On May 16th, 2022, I tragically lost my cherished childhood friend Chris to his struggle with substance abuse. Today, as we mark two years without him, I am dedicating my participation in the Falmouth Road Race to his memory.
