My Story…
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be running the 2024 Falmouth Road Race this year! Being my first time finally running the race, I wanted to choose to run for an organization that meant a lot to me and is near and dear to my heart. I am so happy to be running for Team Empower. Please help me raise money for this amazing nonprofit, which helps kids up to age 24 who have experienced the loss a parent. Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
