I'm Making My Miles More Meaningful With DetermiNation!
Hi everyone,
Thanks for being here! As some of you know, I work at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Cancer Center. During my time here, I’ve learned so much about cancer care and quality. I’m grateful to be part of such an inspiring team and to collaborate with great organizations like the American Cancer Society to improve the lives of those affected by cancer.
This race is especially important to me because I recently lost my dear friend, Ny'Asia President, to a rare cancer called Angiosarcoma in January 2024. Ny'Asia was a light and joy to everyone she met and a strong advocate for quality and equitable care for all. After we graduated from the Health and Society program at UMASS Dartmouth in 2022, Ny'Asia joined the Cancer Center team at Mass General Hospital.
Ny'Asia and I were inseparable from the moment we met at freshman orientation at UMASS Dartmouth. I feel so lucky to have known her and spent my college days by her side. Ny'Asia worked unbelievably hard, kept faith strong, and always had a smile on her face. In her honor, I will do the same for the next 7 miles.
Participating in this race with DetermiNation allows me to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and impactful services for people going through a cancer diagnosis.
Thank you all for your support!
Best,
Kaylee

Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join the American Cancer Society's Team DetermiNation's 2024 ASICS Falmouth Road Race team . Taking part in this iconic and historical road race with DetermiNation gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and impactful services for people going through a cancer diagnosis. I’m also participating to inspire hope for those facing the disease. I hope you’ll consider signing up too or supporting my efforts.
