I am honored to have been selected to run the Falmouth Road Race for JDRF. Please consider a donation. This organization has been so helpful to us, especially early on when Kiera (our eldest, for those that don't know) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes three years ago, just before her 10th birthday. I vividly remember going from getting dressed up for a Halloween party to showing up at the hospital in her rocker costume, processing a lot of very difficult information.
Life certainly throws curveballs but over three years later, I can say that we are doing well. Thanks to the research of JDRF, the journey for those with Type 1 Diabetes will become less daunting as they aim to find a cure.

Welcome to my personal Breakthrough T1D fundraising page!
I have joined Breakthrough T1D to raise funds for the millions of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D). The money I raise will help Breakthrough T1D fund critical research to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people's lives until no one has to fear developing the disease.
Type 1 diabetes is a life-threatening autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to the ability to get energy from food. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and changes life as they know it forever. It cannot be prevented and there is no cure.
Breakthrough T1D is the largest nongovernmental funder of T1D research and the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight T1D. This science is complex and costly, and every dollar Breakthrough T1D is able to direct toward research comes from donors like you.
The challenge I have set for myself — to raise money for Breakthrough T1D and to race — is modest compared to the daily challenges of life with T1D, which involves a 24/7, unrelenting cycle of blood sugar testing and insulin injections to manage the disease.
