My Story…
I am honored to be running my first Falmouth Road Race for the Shawn Thornton Foundation.
Being the Bruins fan that I am, this Foundation caught my attention right away. On the ice, Shawn was not only a great hockey player but also someone who was willing to stand up for his teammates. He was there for the guys who may not have been able to do it all by themselves. His style as a player was much bigger than himself, it was about others. Off the ice with his Foundation, the mission remains the same.
The Foundation is dedicated to help find cures, raise awareness, and improve quality of life for those impacted by Parkinson’s and cancer. Like many other people, this is something that I have been affected by personally and want to do what I can to help make a difference.

Description
The Shawn Thornton Foundation is dedicated to helping find cures for diseases close to Shawn's heart, specifically, Parkinson's and cancer. The Foundation will work towards this mission by raising awareness, funding innovative research and helping to relieve the burden and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
