Help Daunielle raise money

I've run with people who have donated or received liver donations, and that made sense because I've run with the American Liver Foundation (ALF) for almost a decade... my teammates have donated organs and received liver transplants. I run this race for one in particular, Steve, who has dealt with so much and is so grateful to New England Donor Services (NEDS) and ALF that whenever he's able, he runs. This past year organ donation became even more significant in my life. A very good friend of mine, Tom, was in need of a kidney transplant. The donor he had lined up fell through and time was of the essence. Tom had created a charity program years prior in which funds raised buy bibs for lower income and disadvantaged runners. He didn't just get people on to the race courses, he created a team... that team was not just people running together but a family bonded to one another. When Tom needed his family one of those runners, Jorge,  didn't hesitate. He stepped up and donated his kidney. In doing something good for others, who knew years later it would save Tom's life. It's a beautiful story and reminder that kindness - and organ donation - save lives. I wanted to run Falmouth to honor of them both, all of them. Tom and Jorge will be out there and training to run NYC together. I hope by raising money for New England Donor Services I can help others in my friend and teammate's position. It's a privilege to run in their honor.
