My Story…
I first watched the Falmouth Road Race (FRR) as a child in the early 70s. My first time running the FRR with my future wife in the early 90s. Ever since that start, we hardly missed a FRR and loved the event and the people we met along the way.
This year I'm running for the American Lung Association. It's important to me because my wife's father and uncle both passed due to complications from lung issues. And in July of this year, one of my good friends just passed away from complication from IDL. I plan to put his name on my singlet to inspire me this year.
While I love this race, I feel lucky to have the chance to run while also raising money for a charity that helps those in my life who are affected by lung diseases.
This race is never easy. The older I get the harder it gets. But this year will be different. I will need to remember my friend who was fighting just for breaths this year before he eventually passed. When I cross I will be exhausted, but I will remember I raised money to try and help others who have lung issues.
