Help Lisa raise money

On Sunday August 18^th I’ll be lacing up my sneakers and joining over 100,000 others for the 7 mile journey from Woods Hole to Falmouth Heights to run the Falmouth Road Race.  This will be my first time participating in this historic event and I cannot wait! 

I’m overjoyed to be running for Cape Abilities.  For over 50 years, Cape Abilities has been empowering individuals living with disabilities to live, work and thrive on Cape Cod.  I’m especially touched by their ability to provide job placement and to create shared living opportunities.     

I’m running in honor of my mom’s sister, Kieren ("Keri"), who thrived in her group setting.  She was dearly loved by her five brothers and sisters and was cared for, for many years, by her parents.  But Keri's group home experience and the friendships she made there meant the world to her.  I am so grateful that she had the chance to experience that kind of independence.  I can hear her cheering me on already.  

I will also be running in honor of Laura’s sister Anne Marie who participated in this event many times with the support of her sister and others who helped her achieve her goal of crossing the finish line.  I know she will be with me every step of the way.
