My Story…
Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center is a tax-deductible, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and was founded in 1983 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who did not find the services and programs they needed to successfully transition back to their communities anywhere in the region. Ever since then, CIVOC has been an indispensable veteran services provider across the region.
Building on the legacy that the founders started nearly four decades ago, CIVOC offers multiple comprehensive support services that empower veterans to achieve independence with dignity and respect, including 13 monthly food pantries across Cape Cod and on Martha’s Vineyard, a new Food Distribution Center, transportation service for veterans, professional counseling, and transitional housing.
CIVOC advances that mission by building upon strong relationships within the Cape Cod community, as well as a wide range of national and regional grantors. Low administrative and fundraising expenses ensure that CIVOC can direct nearly 91 percent of all donations toward programs that specifically serve veterans.
