My RMH Motivation
This year I will be again running the Falmouth Road Race with my favorite running buddy (my Dad) on Sunday, August 18th in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
As many of you know, Andrew has been an active volunteer with RMH for over a decade. He started giving his time at the UES house in NYC as a weekly volunteer. He was eventually promoted to Lead for Tuesday nights where he would manage a team tasked with organizing meals and themed activities for staying families. Andrew then went on to serve as a camp counselor at the RMH Camp in PA for many years. While at camp, he led a cabin of 5 year old boys who either had pediatric cancer themselves or an impacted sibling, doing everything from cleaning prosthetics, changing beds, feeding and clothing the kids, and most importantly - making sure they could experience the pure fun of summer camp and escape whatever situation was impacting their lives at that time.
Andrew is the epitome of my "better half". Running this race is without comparison, but I am proud to support Andrew's passion and raise money for RMH this year.
Please consider donating to this very special program if you are able.
Description
As the excitement builds for the upcoming Falmouth Road Race I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support of a cause that truly matters – supporting families in need through Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England.
With every stride we take, we are not just covering miles, we are helping provide a home away from home. On August 18, 2024 Team RMHCNE will hit the pavement to race the historic 7 mile course, while raising critical funds to support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence and the Ronald McDonald House at Boston Harbor.
Each year hundreds of families travel to New England from locations all over the world to give their child access to the best medical care. In doing so, they face enormous hurdles such as navigating the complexities of the health care system, extraordinarily high local housing costs, and excessive emotional and physical stress. At the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England, we remove the stress of daily living and support families to enable them to focus on what really matters: their child’s health and healing.
This year Team RMHCNE will work together to provide over 1,000 nights of housing, comfort and support for families of critically ill children. Together, we can reduce the stress associated with financial strain so families can focus on the health of their children.
I hope I can count on you to support my run by contributing to this very special program. Together we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
