Anyone that knows me well, knows that exercise is extremely important to me. Never mind the physical benefits, it's also the mental and emotional well -being exercise provides that helps keep people moving forward in a healthy way. We need to share these benefits with kids and encourage them to play a sport or run a race for example. Belonging to a team teaches EVERyONE discipline and self-confidence. When a child is faced with a challenge that presents a roadblock, whether it be financial or a trauma, to participate, we need to support them and get them what they need so they can keep moving! Focusing on a healthy body / healthy mind mentality and teaching kids to pay it forward with acts of kindness is what "Finish Strong" is all about and that is why I chose to support this charity for the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!

The Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation's mission is to inspire and empower youth across New England and beyond to increase physical activity, expand literacy, and build community and self-esteem through running, reading, and performing acts of kindness.

I am proud to support this organization, founded by running legend Dave McGillivray, that helps youth discover that a passion for physical activity, reading, and acts of kindness at a young age will give them self-confidence and self-respect, which empowers them to succeed throughout their life.
