Help Kimberly raise money

I’m excited to run my first Falmouth Road with the League School for Autism team.  While I love to run, this cause is dear to my heart.  I grew up with a cousin who had special needs. We were very close, and I never saw her as being different. Why would I? She did everything with me, and when I lost her at a young age, I knew my path in life.  I wanted to work with children to help them get the best services needed. After my first practicum in a school for Autism, I found my path.  It was an amazing experience that opened my eyes to working with children with Autism. I have been working as a speech-language pathologist for over 20 years.  I’ve worked in 2 schools for Autism and sub-separate classrooms within 2 public school systems.  Most of my experience has been in early intervention where I serviced several families with children with Autism and helped with early identification and diagnosis. I love working with children with Autism and helping them become the best communicators they can be and seeing their amazing progress. I love the special bond that is created between a child and his/her therapist. This past winter, I saw a child who was diagnosed with Autism right before I started working with him. I worked with him 3 hours a week from 3-5 years old. He greeted me by name and said he remembered playing with me when he was little.  It touched my heart because it was over 10 years ago. Help me to support this amazing school, so that we can continue to provide children with Autism the best services and support they need!!
