My Story…
Hello Family and Friends,
I'm excited to announce I will be running the 2024 Falmouth Road Race for Team Empower. This organization is very near and dear to my heart, starting back to 2013 when I met Cara Belvin through my daycare. Cara’s vision immediately intrigued both my daughters and I who have been involved with Empower since its inception in many different capacities. Although, I have been involved in fundraising and many events throughout the years, my most important role has been serving as a mentor.
I was lucky enough to be matched with the bravest and kindest 13 year old girl named Madalynn, who lost her mother at the young age of 3. She is now being raised by her incredibly strong Great-Grandmother and extended family, along with her 4 siblings. Madalynn started off as a mentee, but has turned into my friend over the past 5 years. My time with her has been easy and one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.
I am running in honor of Madalynn and her mother Libby who died way too young. I am asking my friends and family to please help me to support others like Madalynn, it takes a village and I am so proud to be a part of it.

Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2024 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is an international nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
