Another year running the Falmouth Road Race with AA! This cause is very near and dear to my heart. Alzheimer's and other brain degenerative diseases have impacted both myself and my family throughout my life. My mother and grandmother suffered from different varieties of Dementia for many years. My grandma passed from Alzheimer's in 2018 and my mom passed from Frontotemporal Dementia in 2009. The impact these horrific diseases can have on a person and their families is extremely difficult to cope with. That's why I am very proud to run the Falmouth Road Race this year in support of the Alzheimer's Association!
Currently there are more than 6 Million Americans living with Alzheimer's and over 11 Million people providing unpaid care for them. This disease will cost the US over $345 Billion in 2024. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. 1 in 3 seniors die from it, two thirds of those living with Alzheimer's are women, and one in five women over 45 will be diagnosed.
Any impact I can make to better support research and care for families who are impacted by the disease means so much to me. Looking forward to running the 52nd Falmouth Road Race to support this amazing cause! If you feel inclined, please donate- any amount can help.
