My Story…
Hi! I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race for a great organization like the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation. This foundation was established to help ease the transition from Military to civilian work for the Special Operations community. The main focus being to raise funds for current and former Special Operations professionals from all branches of the military to provide the means necessary to transition and succeed in civilian careers. GDMF does this by offering scholarships for education and professional training.
Glen Doherty himself was one of four Americans killed in the terror attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for his contributions to our nation. The foundation is a way to honor Glen's life and his beliefs.
