My Story
I am so excited to serve as Team Captain for our Cape Wellness Collaborative team at the Falmouth Road race! As the Program and Operations Director at CWC, I witness firsthand the profound impact our donors make by supporting our mission. Thanks to their generosity, we provide invaluable services like our wellness eats program & summer rowing program as well as hosted support groups, where meaningful connections are formed. The free integrative therapies we offer—such as acupuncture, massage, and reiki—bring comfort and care to those facing a cancer diagnosis. It’s truly rewarding to help our community find relief and support during such a challenging time.
As a newly added official member, I’m determined to meet my fundraising goal. I love what I do, and this community continues to amaze me with its generosity and willingness to give back. Thank you so much for your support!
Description
CWC provides free of charge integrative therapies, nutritious meals, and emotional support for people facing cancer on Cape Cod and their caregivers.
Integrative care includes massage, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, yoga, art therapy and more. All of these modalities provide significant relief from the side effects of cancer and its treatment. Integrative care is not typically covered by insurance, which means many people cannot afford it while undergoing cancer treatment and facing a loss of work.
CWC partners directly with local practitioners who provide these services and we cover the cost.
Our model makes integrative care accessible: the practitioners are in your neighborhood, and the cost is covered. We serve over 600 people living with cancer each year. Our goal is to help people feel better, better tolerate treatment, and recover faster after treatment.
