My Story…
The Teen Court program works with juveniles referred by Guilford County Juvenile Court. Teen Court utilizes teens in the roles of defense attorney, prosecuting attorney, and the jury. Teen defendents are judged by their peers. The presiding judge is a sitting Guilford County judge, or Guilford County attorney. Defendents can receive a variety of sanctions, including but not limited to: community service, restitution, letters of apology, and attendance in the OSF Life Skills classes (mandatory sanction). Once the teen completes all sanctions, all juvenile charges are dismissed. The Teen Court program has a 98% recidivism rate, which means that 98% of participants do not re-offend after successful completion of the program. We thank you for supporting Teen Court as we support our teens.
