For many premature babies and critically ill newborns, McMaster Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the first home they will ever know. These vulnerable infants, some small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, often need breathing support and specialized care for a whole host of complications. They may spend weeks or months in hospital, their families anxiously by their side.
