My Story…
Animals understand what it is to feel pain, fear, abuse, and neglect. Conversely, they understand compassion, safety, and friendship. It is disturbing that cruelty cases in Texas continue to rise — animals are tortured, forced to fight, hoarded, and killed. The SPCA of Texas investigates thousands of reports of animal cruelty each year and works with law enforcement agencies and animal control agencies to rescue and rehome abused animals. It is one of the few animal welfare nonprofit organizations that rehabilitates animals with behavioral problems arising from their cruelty. In 2023, SPCA took in over 5,700 animals through cruelty investigation seizures, owner surrender, and those that were lost. It also investigated over 1,200 animal cruelty complaints; rehomed 2,900 animals through adoption; and provided healthcare to 19,205 owned pets.
I’ve been heavily involved with SPCA both as the prior Chair for the Young Professionals group and as a member of the Board of Directors. I’ve been fortunate to see firsthand the impact generosity has on improving animal welfare. This is the sole reason SPCA exists and the reason I ask for your help. Every year I fundraise for SPCA’s Strut Your Mutt—The Race to End Animal Cruelty. Please consider donating using the link below, any and all amounts are greatly appreciated. Eighty-four cents of every dollar donated goes directly to animal welfare initiatives.
Please consider helping.
