Sexual abuse and violence is something most people are afraid to talk about, those that have been abused more than anyone. There are terrifying numbers of women, and men, who have been abused and are too scared to come forward, so many people that have been not believed. Even if you do come forward and report it the chances of prosecution is very low, and if anything comes from a trial the time lag before anything comes of it is so long and brutal for the abused, giving attackers the ability to continue their lives and abuse more people.

I know a number of people that have had experiences that sounded like they came out of a horror movie, and countless friends that have experienced sexual abuse or violence, me included. This can be as simple as someone not understanding the word "no" or someone not understanding that if someone stops saying no it doesn't mean they're saying yes.

Sexual abuse is the kind of thing that stays with you your whole life and will effect every romantic encounter you ever have again. Please help raise money to help give people the confidence and resources to be able to deal with their abuse, and to initiate very needed conversations about our experiences and consent.
