My Story…
In 2004 I underwent the first of four major hip surgeries to correct congenital hip dysplasia on both hips. Having been a track and cross country runner in my teens, losing my mobility was heartbreaking for me, and I did not believe I could or would ever run again. In 2023 I signed up for the Bionic5k and ran for the first time in almost 20 years. Slow and steady is my motto these days, and I am overjoyed that I have been able to return to something I loved so much after so long. I'm excited to participate again this year, the 20th anniversary of my first acetabular osteotomy!
