Our story…
Losing a parent, let alone, at a young age, can be one of the most profoundly challenging experiences a person can face. Brennen, my husband, and I both lost our fathers when we were both quite young and we understand firsthand, and appreciate how the loss of a parent at a young age can shape your entire life and leave a lasting impact on your emotional well-being and sense of identity.
Thembi (our son) and I are participating in the Run4Lighthouse 2024 to honor the memory of the grandfathers (Edward & Roger) he will never meet, in this life. And also in support of Lighthouse for Grieving Children. No child has to navigate the journey of grief alone. Grief support services can make that needed positive difference in the lives of children and families who are navigating the difficult journey of grief.
