My Story…
When my husband Luke died in 2018, Distress Centres offered us unique support. I have since become a peer grief facilitator in their Survivors of Suicide Loss program and this walk is another way for me to give back. Family and friends will gather to increase awareness of mental health issues and suicide, memorialize loved ones who died by suicide and raise critically needed funds to continue to support the growing demand for the free programs and services offered by DCGT. Please consider donating and we'd love to see you at the walk!
Description
Thank you for your generous support of our third annual Walk to End Suicide event. Since we launched this event in 2022, we have been overwhelmed by the support our community has shown in supporting our critically needed, free mental health programs and services.
This event shines a light on World Suicide Prevention Day (Tuesday September 10, 2024) and continues to highlight action that will help reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts globally, along with continuing to de-stigmatize mental health.
Though the event is just one day, your support resonates every day for those in need.
Thanks again,
Robert Ridge
