Help Yalexis raise money

This year, I want to honour my beloved baby brother, Yulian by talking part in the Walk to end Suicide. We are bringing awareness to mental health and raising funds for suicide prevention.

I never thought he would become part of the statistics, one of the 700,000 people who died by suicide every year (in Canada 12 people each day). I believe that with the right supports, we can help to prevent many of these deaths. The dcogt in the GTA provides timely emotional support, crisis intervention and suicide prevention to people in distress.

I benefited from one of their programs when I struggled to understand why Yulian had died this way. They explained to me that suicide is multi-casual (not one thing causes somebody to die by suicide) and that mental illness is one of the risk factors. I was matched with a sister who also had lost her brother, to meet regularly. These one-on-one sessions were extremely helpful for me.
