My Story…
I am so excited to support Rob and CMV Canada! Have you heard of cytomegalovirus (CMV)? As a pediatric Audiologist and Professor at Western University, I am aware of the importance of universal screening for CMV in all newborns across Canada: congenital CMV is the leading cause of non-genetic hearing loss in babies. Currently, screening for CMV is only available in a few provinces/territories nationwide. This is a Canadian health care inequity that needs to change! With your support, ALL babies in Canada will be offered screening for CMV at birth AND be provided with the supports necessary to reduce the impacts CMV can have. I will be running 2 half marathon legs with Rob on May 10 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Wish me luck!!
