My Story…
Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this message finds you well. Today, I'm reaching out with a story close to my heart, one that speaks of resilience, dreams, and the power of community.
Growing up as a first-generation American, the daughter of hardworking immigrant parents, life wasn't always easy. We hustled in the bustling swapmeets of Los Angeles, where I learned the value of a dollar and the importance of perseverance. My parents sacrificed so much to give me opportunities they never had, and their unwavering support fueled my ambitions.
I remember the long days under the scorching sun, helping my parents run their stall, selling goods to make ends meet. But amidst the hustle, there was a dream - a dream of breaking free from the cycle of poverty, a dream of building a better future not just for myself, but for my family and community.
That dream led me to pursue education relentlessly. I worked tirelessly in school, often burning the midnight oil to ensure I stayed on the path to success. And thanks to the support of mentors, scholarships, and sheer determination, I became the first in my family to attend college.
Now, as I lace up my sneakers for WalkUnitedLA, I am reminded of the journey that brought me here. It's a journey of resilience, of overcoming obstacles, and of never losing sight of the bigger picture. But most importantly, it's a journey that exemplifies the transformative power of breaking cycles of poverty and building communities of prosperity.
With each step I take, I carry the hopes and dreams of those who have supported me along the way - my family, my friends, and my community. And with your help, we can make an even greater impact.
By donating to my WalkUnitedLA page, you're not just supporting a cause; you're investing in the future. You're empowering individuals like me to defy the odds, to chase their dreams, and to create a ripple effect of change in our communities.
So, let's come together, let's walk united, and let's continue breaking cycles of poverty while building communities of prosperity. Because when we walk hand in hand, there's no limit to what we can achieve.
