My wife works for the LA County Office of Education, and we have proudly represented in WalkUnited and Homewalk through the United Way for more than a decade to bring attention to the issue of homelessness in LA County, specifically students experiencing homelessness. There are more than 58,000 students experiencing homelessness identified across Los Angeles County in school districts and charter schools. Access to housing provides stability for these children and, in turn, allows them to focus their efforts on school so they can reach their academic goals to support their personal dreams as they grow into productive, successful young adults.
